Audiovisual duo, Sculpture, aka musician Dan Hayhurst and visual artist Reuben Sutherland, combine animation, video art and unstable electronic music in transitory synaesthetic forms.

Catching a live AV set by Sculpture is to enter a maximal portal into their unique aesthetic. Genre tropes, temporal signs and perceptual associations are reconfigured in the moment seeking multisensory overload. A volatile simultaneity links the duo’s visual turntablism and metamorphic sound forms. With a camera mounted on a Technics turntable, Sutherland creates fever dream visuals with a chaotic library of zoetropic prints. Animation, tactile photo collage, and cutting edge digital technique combine in hyperkinetic patterns and op-art cuts. Hayhurst misuses samplers, tape loops, cassette players and CDJ deck to create an analogue/digital hybrid of outsider pop, experimental composition and improvised splatter that maximises the results of unexpected combinations.

Sculpture formed as a duo for an unrehearsed performance in 2008. They have since played worldwide and released polymedia byproduct on labels including:
